Workbench provides a ready-made platform for makers of great products to connect with end users and build online communities. Makers can find new ways to use products, teachers can find new ways to teach, and everyone can share their own programming code, lessons, and experiences within the community. Professional Development

Workbench instructional designers produce customized professional development, including written PD materials, videos, and interactive online lessons to help tech-literate as well as tech-novice teachers learn how to use partner products to support STEAM education. We provide professional development both on-site at schools across the country and online using the Workbench platform.

Classroom Integration

Standards. The Workbench platform easily integrates with the activities and curricula that districts and schools already use. Lessons from Workbench or our partner sites can be linked to a variety of standards, including state, Common Core, and Next Generation Science Standards.

Teachers. On Workbench, teachers can create classes, add students, assign lessons, and monitor student progress in real time. Teachers can also use the intuitive project creator to create step-based lessons with video, images, attached documents, and built-in assessments.

Students. Students on Workbench can upload videos, images, and a variety of file types to demonstrate their work, sharing with their class in galleries for kudos and discussion. Clever. The Workbench platform allows both Clever single sign-on and Clever Secure Sync for easy integration with pre-existing district learning management systems.

Coordinated Purchasing

Workbench has partnered with some of the most forward-thinking maker-product companies in the world, like Sphero and SparkFun Electronics, who actively seek engagement with their users and believe in the value of project-based learning. Workbench education specialists work with school districts to create customized product bundles, including lessons and professional development, for coordinated purchases.
